Essay Contest - How Can We Build a Safer Cyber World With The Way The Internet is Structured?
Today’s generation uses the internet every day, from communicating through emails, to banking, traveling, studying and shopping. The use of the internet touches every aspect of life.
With the current increase of cyber-attacks in the world today, and no indication that it will let up, there’s a growing demand for talented college students to enter into this challenging profession.
TruShield is hosting a college scholarship essay contest, with the goal of helping college students enter this vital field of study, and hopefully help make the digital world a safer place.
Submission Deadline: May 15, 2016
Write an essay on the topic: "How can we build a safer cyber world with the way the internet is structured?"
3000 word maximum
Minimum 2.5 GPA
Participant must be a United States Citizen.
Participant must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled at a four-year university in the United States.
Participant must be majoring in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Software Engineering, Cyber Security.
First Prize: $500 Scholarship and your essay posted on the TruShield website.
Second Prize: Kindle Fire HD and your essay posted on the TruShield website.
Third Prize: $50 Amazon Gift Card and your essay posted on the TruShield website.
- Email essays (preferably as Microsoft Word Attachment) by May 15, 2016 to firstname.lastname@example.org, or use the form below to submit your application.
- Include Cyber Essay Contest and Topic in the subject line of your email.
- Include the word count on title page of your essay but do not include your name on the title page or within the essay.
- Provide a separate attachment of your biography and complete contact information – your name, contact phone number, full mailing address and full college address.
We will assume that your essay has not been previously published (online or in print) or is being considered for publication elsewhere unless otherwise notified by you. All previously published essays are ineligible.
The TruShield Security Solutions, Inc. HR and Marketing Staff members will evaluate each essay and narrow down a selection to pass along to the Selection Committee.
The committee will consist of the Executive Vice President and the Chief Security Architect of TruShied Security Solutions, Inc. who will choose the winners.
Announcement of Winners
Winners of the contest will be notified by May 27, 2016. The winning essay will be published on the TruShield Security Solutions Inc. website on May 31, 2016. Prizes will be distributed via USPS no later than June 15, 2016.
